The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources For Cheap Industrial Gas Is Officially Published

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) issued Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 255.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2024 which is an amendment to the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 91.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2023 which regulates certain natural gas users and certain natural gas prices in the industrial sector.

Head of the Communications, Public Information Services and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agus Cahyono Adi, said this change occurred based on recommendations from the Minister of Industry regarding certain natural gas users.

Agus said that the new regulation regulates two main things, namely the revocation of the status of 9 industries that were previously registered as users of certain natural gas.

"This means that these industries no longer meet the criteria or benefit from certain natural gas price policies," Agus said in a statement to the media quoted Monday, October 14.

The second rule is the addition of 4 new industries as users of certain natural gas, which means that from now on, the industry has the right to receive natural gas at a price that has been set specifically for the industrial sector.

Agus added that this decision also refers to two main regulations, namely the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 15 of 2022, which regulates the procedures for determining users and certain natural gas prices in the industrial sector.

Second, the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 134.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022, which provides guidelines in determining and evaluating certain natural gas users and prices in the industrial sector and providing electricity for the public interest.

"Thus, this decision is an adjustment to ensure that natural gas distribution is more targeted, participates in evaluations, and changes in needs in the industrial sector," said Agus.
