Army Chief Of Staff Maruli: Security Personnel Plus Ahead Of The Inauguration Of The High Euphoria President
JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak said additional security personnel might occur if the public's euphoria increased ahead of the inauguration of the President and Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka on October 20, 2024.
As of Sunday afternoon, said Maruli, the TNI has not found any waves or movements that have the potential to create unfavorable conditions related to the inauguration of the elected president and vice president.
"But we still have professional anticipation, I think there will be Paspampres work too, ring one and ring two are there, ring three is also there," Maruli said in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, October 13.
He said securing the presidential inauguration would be carried out normally like the inauguration period before. However, if there is an escalation of the movement that may potentially disrupt the inauguration process, the addition of personnel will be carried out from three dimensions, namely the Army (AD), Navy (AL), and Air Force (AU).
"Yes, we used to do it over and over again and I was also directly involved behind the inauguration of the previous period," said the four-star general of the Indonesian Army.
In addition, Maruli admitted that he did not have further information regarding whether or not there was a planned convoy after the inauguration of the president and vice president.
"Both of them who have just been inaugurated must also have a busy schedule after the inauguration by the MPR, the trial, then to the Palace, still receiving guests, so I don't know yet," he said.
Regarding the number of TNI personnel during the inauguration security process, Maruli was also not willing to reveal. Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were inaugurated as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024'2029 period on October 20 at the DPR/MPR Building.
