Hiatus 10 Months, Seunghan Will Return To Promotion With RIIZE
JAKARTA - Almost a year after the hiatus, Seunghan was announced to be returning to his activities with the RIIZE group. The SM Entertainment agency released the latest statement to group fans known as BRIIZE.
Seunghan was decided to hiatus after photos in the past before his debut circulated on social media. Seunghan who was seen kissing a woman caused controversy in the public.
"As fans know, it's been 10 months since Seunghan hiatus from group activities because of issues with his pre-debut personal life. Seunghan realized his actions were wrong and he reflected that action he also felt guilty to other members and his fans," said SM Entertainment on Friday, October 11.
"We are also aware that Seunghan's past actions are not worthy of being an artist, that's why it took us a long time to discuss when he will return to his activities. Because there was no announcement of Seunghan, fans became worried and we empathized with that feeling," they explained.
The agency apologized for taking a long time to decide on Seunghan's return. They discussed repeatedly with staff and members about the group's future. Seunghan will return to his activities with RIIZE starting next November.
Even during the hiatus period, Seunghan consistently built skills and there was still a lot that he showed. Once again, we apologize for causing confusion and difficulty to fans who witnessed RIIZE's growth," he said.
On the same day, Seunghan also wrote an open letter to fans who sent support to him. He apologized and thanked him for waiting for him for up to a year.
First, I want to apologize to members and fans. When the photos before my debut were released, even though it was my photo, I was sorry and disappointed with myself. Even though I feel that way, I don't imagine how members and fans feel it," wrote Seunghan.
"You must be angry, shocked, disappointed. I apologize to the fans who supported us from the start, a crucial period and hurt by my actions. I also feel guilty to the members we should have worked with but I quit my activities. I apologize to everyone who had to go through the situation," he continued.
During his hiatus, Seunghan received support from members even though he had time to wonder if he could return to music.
I am determined to work hard and do better because of the trust they give. I will be a member who is responsible and does not tarnish the achievements that members make. I want to be an important figure for RIIZE," he said.
RIIZE itself has just finished the first tour by holding a concert in Seoul, South Korea. They also released the first concert film titled RIIZING DAY which airs around the world.
