Chery Starts Exporting Indonesian Assembled Cars In November, Vietnam And The Philippines Become Destinations
Chery in Indonesia has assembled various local car models at the PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) assembly facility in Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, West Java, which began in March 2023.
The assembly in Indonesia itself is apparently not only intended for the right steering wheel, but also for the left steering wheel. Chery plans to export to various countries starting in the fourth quarter.
"Chery not only made a right steering car, but also a left steering wheel in Indonesia and early November it would be exported to Vietnam," said Assistant President Director of PT CSI Zeng Shuo, at the launch of the Tiggo 8 price in the Jakarta area, some time ago.
Not only Vietnam, Zeng Shuo also revealed that other countries will become export destinations from Indonesia, one of which is the Philippines.
"With Partner factory Handal from early November it will be exported to Vietnam and there are also plans to go to the Philippines," he added.

However, he did not elaborate in more detail on what models to be exported to various countries, most likely the Omoda 5 model to be the main candidate.
As previously reported by VOI, PT CSI Head of Marketing Mohamad Ilham Pratama had said that Omoda 5 would be the model to be exported.
"The plan is to start exporting Omoda 5 in the fourth quarter of this year," said Ilham, last September.
Ilham said that in Vietnam there has been no assembly for the Omoda 5 model, and the market in the country is also quite good.
"So later from China it will be assembled here (Indonesia) and then sent to Vietnam. Looking at the market, it is also quite good in Vietnam," concluded Ilham.
