Mike Portnoy Remembers Recording And Touring With Averaged Sevenfold

JAKARTA - Drummer Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy expressed the sweet impression he had with the Fallen Sevenfold. In addition to filling out the recording, he is also known to have toured M. Shadows et al.

While a guest at Drumeo, Mike talked about the start of his meeting with A7X. He first filled the drum part on Nightmare's song in 2009, moments after The Rev passed away.

"Most of what The Rev played, I played during the recording. I only added a small touch in some parts, such as a chorus with a ride cymbal game," he said in a video uploaded on October 4.

Mike tells how much he and The Rev both respect each other as musicians. Especially on a number of occasions the drummer Averaged Sevenfold often referred to Portnoy as his inspiration.

"We have good relations. Even though we never met, we exchanged messages and emails. I am honored that he often talks about it in the media, and says I am influencing his game," he continued.

The recording process for Nightmare's song took place in a magical way with the combination of characters The Rev and Mike Portnoy. Until finally in 2010 he was involved in the Nightmare Killed Sevenfold tour which he remembered as an unforgettable memory.

"I remember going on tour with them, and we enjoyed it. I remember on the tour, bringing Nightmare at the start of the set, with people hanging their necks from above. Very theatrical and amazing, while we had to keep playing the song until the end," he recalled.

That's why Mike Portnoy once again plays Nightmare who has an emotional bond for him. Watch the monster game of the senior drummer below.
