Vocalist Sum 41 Deryck Whispery Admits Experiencing Harassment By Former Manager
JAKARTA - Vocalist Sum 41 Deryck Whibley revealed a surprising confession in his memoir. The 44-year-old musician said the former manager of Greig Nori had sexually and verbally abused him.

Deryck said the harassment occurred in the early Sum 41st. At that time he was 18 years old, while Nori, who is also the vocalist of the 34-year-old punk band Treble Charger.
Initially Nori worked with Sum 41 as a songwriter and producer. Then, he was officially appointed as the band manager.
"Greig has one requirement to be our manager. He wants full control," Whibyy wrote in his memoir, citing the Los Angeles Times, Thursday, October 10.
"We can't talk to anyone except him, because the music business is 'full of snakes and lies', and it's the only person we can trust."
In his story, Deryck admitted that Nori's abuse began when the two spent time together. He said his manager was the first to serve him alcohol.
He wrote, Nori once asked him to go to the bathroom to use ecstasy. While in the bathroom, Nori allegedly held Deryck's face and "with great passion" kissed him without permission.

The vocalist also explained his failed attempt to abuse it. He remembered Nori labeling him homophobic in response.
In the memoir, Deryck stated that sexual intercourse ended after a friend found out what had happened. He also wrote a moment when his ex-wife, Avril Lavigne, learned of the experience.
Avril told Deryck, "That's harassment! He sexually abused you."
During his interview with Rolling Stone, Deryck explained his reasons for revealing Noir's harassment.
"As soon as I got to the things about the Greig Nori, I was like 'Do I have to talk about this?' But how could I not talk about it? It's been so related to everything for seven years. I would lie if I didn't talk about it."
