BDDC Ready To Operate JST1, Data Center Facilities As Indonesia Internet Exchange
JAKARTA - Together with the Digital Data Center (BDDC) officially operates the infrastructure of its newest data center called JST1, on Wednesday, October 8 in the East Jakarta area.
JST1 is the second data center to be inaugurated by BDDC in the last two years following JBT1 (West Jakarta Tangerang) which is located in West Jakarta.
"In Indonesia, currently, the capacity is more than 4 to 5-6 percent of this data center needs in Indonesia. So we see this is a very good opportunity," said Setyanto Hantoro, President Commissioner of the Joint Digital Data Center (BDDC) in his remarks.
In addition to becoming a data center, BBDC in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Internet Service Providers (APJII) will also make this digital infrastructure the Indonesia Internet Exchange (IIXS-JK2), an internet traffic exchange hub in Indonesia.
The presence of BDDC JST1 and IIX JK2, is part of BDDC's commitment to support the Government's efforts to realize national digital sovereignty through onboard data center services.
The cooperation that has been discussed for more than two years is intended so that JST1 can become an ideal gathering point for all digital enablers both in Indonesia and abroad.
"We believe and we hope that what we contribute to JST and IX together at least can contribute a little to Indonesia's readiness to further advance our economy," said Setyanto.
