Simone Inzaghi Receives Manlio Scopigno Award
JAKARTA - Simone Inzaghi received the Manlio Scopigno award on Monday, October 7, 2024, because she became the Best Coach of Serie A for the 2023/2024 season.
This award is given to the coach who has been the most prominent all season in terms of sportsmanship, preparation, class, skills, how to deal with the media, and the ability to relate to his team that combines professional skills with human and sports quality.
Previously, Inzaghi also received a similar award when he handled the Lazio youth team or Lazio Primavera in 2014.
At that time, the 48-year-old manager was named the Best Coach of the Young Sector.
"I'm happy to receive an award like this. I was lucky enough to win it while coaching (Lazio) Primavera. Now I won it with the first team (Inter Milan)."

"This award reminded me very much when I arrived from Piacenza to Lazio in 1999 when I was a child," said Inzaghi on Inter Milan's official website.

Not to forget, Inzaghi shared this award with the Italian legend who was his role model, the late Tommaso Maestrelli.
Maestrelli is a former player and manager who is big in Rome. While still actively playing, he played for Bari, Roma, and Lucchese.
His managerial career started from where he hung up his shoes, Bari. Then, he took Reggina, Foggia, to Lazio. Maestrelli died on December 2, 1976, at the age of 54.

Manlio Scopigno is the name of the Best Coach Serie A. award. His name was taken from the historical coach of Cagliari who won the Scudetto in 1970.
During his career, he looked brilliant and had made him unique in the line-up of Italian coaches.
Meanwhile, the awarding ceremony to Inzaghi took place in Rome, precisely in the CONI Honorary Hall (Italy Olympic Committee).
