After 5 Weeks Of Blocking, X Can Return To Online In Brazil

JAKARTA - The social networking platform X is now back in operation in Brazil after the Supreme Court in the country lifted a ban that prevented X from being online for five weeks yesterday.

In its decision, the Supreme Court Justice, Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) said that the return of X only depended on full compliance with Brazilian laws.

"I allow the immediate recovery of social platform activities," de Moraes said in his ruling.

According to him, X changed course and complied with existing regulations. Also, the local Attorney General's Office (PGR) found no reason to prevent the company from returning to its activities.

X is proud to be back in Brazil. Providing access to our platform which is very important to tens of millions of Brazilians is the most important thing in the whole process," X wrote in a statement.

Elon Musk's network platform also emphasizes that it will continue to maintain free speech, within legal limits, wherever they operate.

The blocking of this social network has been ordered by the minister on August 30. At that time, he decided that the suspension of social networks would be maintained until the court's decision was complied with.

Then X finally paid off the fines that had to be paid, amounting to 28.6 million Brazilian Real or around Rp. 80 billion.
