Previously, a meeting of high-ranking Manchester United was predicted to decide on Erik ten Hag's future.
The Dutch coach was flooded with pressure after the Red Devils' poor record during the start of the Premier League this season.
Manchester United's record was the worst in 35 years with eight points from seven league games.
A number of club legends also opened their voices regarding the performance of the Red Devils. Not a few want a change of manager as soon as possible.
However, Ten Hag felt his seat was not threatened. In fact, after the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, he still believes that the score is good.
The comment sparked criticism from Alan Shearer, a former Manchester United player. According to him, Ten Hag's statement made him even more criticized.
"In the big scheme, go to Villa and take care of the clean sheet. You look at it and think, okay, yes, admissible and good results."
"However, what he said after that game, I really didn't think it was helping him."
"When he said Manchester United were heading in the right direction, in fact they were 13th before the weekend and now they are 14th!" Alan Shearer said on the podcast The Rest is Football.
Meanwhile, prior to the Manchester United high-ranking meeting, a number of names had been linked as substitutes for Ten Hag.
Thomas Tuchel is a candidate because Ratcliffe has long admired the German coach.
