Google Chat Adds Video Message Feature To Improve User Interaction

JAKARTA - Google Chat is now starting to roll out video message features to increase user interaction. This feature, which has long been available on popular messaging applications such as WhatsApp, is expected to make communication more personal.

For now, users can only record video messages via Google Chat's web client, with a maximum recording time limit of three minutes. Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available on the Linux, ChromeOS, and Firefox browser operating system. However, users can easily watch video messages received via the Google Chat application on their cellphone.

The launch of this feature is carried out in stages, starting from the Rapid Release domain, and will be available to the Scheduled Release domain starting October 25. This launch process can take up to 15 days before the feature is fully active on the user's account.

To use the video message feature, users must subscribe to one of the following Google Workspace packages: Business (Starter, Standard, Plus), Enterprise (Standard, Plus), Essentials, Nonprofits, or Frontline.

Users can start recording video messages by pressing the Record button next to the Send button, then selecting the video message option.

This feature is expected to help Google Chat users communicate more interactively and personally.
