Palestinian PM Forms Gaza Reconstruction Team, UN Estimated Needs 50 Billion US Dollars

JAKARTA - Palestinian Prime Minister (PM) Mohammed Mustafa announced the formation of a national team for reconstruction to rebuild Gaza.

In a live press conference from Ramallah quoted from Arab News, Mustafa said so far Palestine had provided assistance to more than 400,000 of its citizens in Gaza and would continue to do so.

On the one hand, an UN Development Program official revealed that the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip could reach US$ 50 billion.

Meanwhile, the Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Arab Countries, Abdullah Al-Dardari, highlighted that the most dangerous phase was the day after the ceasefire.

He explained, at that stage people who fled and those who had lost their homes were anxiously waiting for the restructuring of the residence.

Israel's aggression against Gaza has occurred since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, as a result of decades of Israeli jurisprudence.

Since Israel's emilitary aggression in Gaza as many as 42,000 Palestinians have been killed.

Israeli attacks have also displaced nearly 2.3 million people in Gaza, sparked a hunger crisis, and led to allegations of genocide at the United Nations which Israel denies.

The Israeli invasion then spread from Gaza to the West Bank in Palestine, then Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq.
