KPK Investigators Search For South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor Alias Uncle Birin

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested six people who were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) in South Kalimantan. Meanwhile, Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin who was also named a suspect is still in the process of being searched.

"Currently, investigators are still trying to secure other parties responsible for this criminal incident," said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, October 8.

The six people who have been detained by the anti-corruption commission are SOL as Head of PUPR for South Kalimantan Province, YUL as Head of Cipta Karya as well as PPK, AMD as administrator of Tahfidz Darussalam House, FEB as Acting Governor of South Kalimantan; YUD and AND as private parties.

Meanwhile, the Director of Investigation of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that Uncle Birin was a suspect, only after the case was carried out with the leadership. This moment occurred after the silent operation was carried out and asked for information from two bribers.

"(Determination, ed) Mr. Governor that night, yes, around 10 o'clock. There have been information that connects to other parties," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK suspected that the Governor of South Kalimantan, Sahbirin Noor alias Uncle Birin, received a fee of up to 5 percent of the three projects in his area. The provision was made by Sugeng Wahyudi and Andi Susanto as private parties.

Details of the three projects both work on are:

1. Development of Football Fields in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with selected provider PT WKM (Wismani Kharya Mandiri) with a work value of Rp23 billion; 2. Integrated Samsat Development with selected provider PT HIU (Haryadi Indo Utama) with a work value of Rp22 billion;3. Development of Swimming Pools in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with selected provider CV BBB (Bunt Banua Bersama) with a work value of Rp9 billion.
