JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined the Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) Ali Jamil as a witness. Investigators are questioning him regarding the procurement at the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Quarantine Agency (Barantan).

"Witness AJ was present," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, October 8.

Tessa said the examination was carried out at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Monday, October 7.

The former Director General (Dirjen) of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture is suspected of knowing the process of procuring x-ray machines which led to corruption.

"Investigated regarding the knowledge concerned regarding the procurement of static mobile x-rays and containers when they were the Head of the Quarantine Agency," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of static x-rays, mobile x-rays, and x-ray trailers or containers at the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Quarantine Agency (Kementan). A total of six people have been prevented from leaving the country, namely WH, IP, MB, SUD, CS and RF.

One of the six people is the former Secretary of the Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture Wisnu Haryana. This prevention was requested by the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights based on Decree Number 1064 of 2024 and valid for six months.

The KPK said that the state losses due to this procurement allegedly reached Rp82 billion. However, the exact number could change because the auditors are still calculating for sure.
