Strong Winds Donate Trees On Jalan Lampung Selatan-Bengkulu, Evacuation Officers Avoid Congestion

The joint SAR team evacuated a fallen tree that covered the west side of South Lampung road to Bengkulu Province.

West Coast Police Chief AKBP Alsyahendra said the evacuation was carried out to avoid situations that could endanger the safety of road users.

"Bengkunat Police personnel are working with the BPBD Team to ensure that the road can still be passed by cutting and cutting logs that block parts of the road and making traffic arrangements so that there is no traffic jams, on the West Cross Road, Bengkunat District, at 13.30 WIB," he said when contacted, Monday, October 7, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the cause of the fallen tree was due to extreme strong winds and high rainfall intensity, which turned soil construction into clumps.

According to him, the fallen tree blocked the highway on Jalan Lintas Barat, which is a vital route for the community and currently the fallen tree has been successfully evacuated.

"We urge the public to remain vigilant when doing activities around the area, considering that uncertain weather conditions can cause similar incidents," he said.

The West Coast Police will continue to coordinate with BPBD and other relevant agencies to deal with emergency events such as natural disasters quickly and effectively.

"With this effort, it is hoped that it can reduce the negative impacts caused by natural disasters and maintain the safety of the people in the West Coast area," he said.
