Japan 2024 MotoGP Sprint Race Results: Bagnaia Wins!

JAKARTA The defending champion from Italy, Francesco Bagnaia, managed to get out as the winner of the 2024 Japanese MotoGP MotoGP race. The rider who defended the Ducati Lenovo Team made a record 21 minutes 01.074 seconds in a race with cloudy weather conditions at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit, Japan, on Saturday, October 5.

Bagnaia, who was pursuing his third title from this event, managed to outperform his teammate Enea Bastianini who finished in second place with a time difference of +0.181 seconds.

Then six-time world champion Marc Marquez followed the duo Ducati to complete the top three. The Spaniard was adrift of +0.349 seconds.

Meanwhile, the caretaker of this season's drivers' standings Jorge Martin followed in fourth place, in front of his Prima Pramac teammate Franco Morbidelli.

The victory in this sprint made the distance between Bagnaia and Martin cut to 15 points. That point could have narrowed again if Bagnaia won the race tomorrow.

Currently Martin sits at the top of the standings with 372 points, Bagnaia trails in second place with a collection of 357 points, and Bastianini 300 points in third place.

In tomorrow's race, Bagnaia will start from the second grid, behind Pedrodeca who locks the pole. Martin will start the race from 11th.
