Metro Jaya Police Chief Guarantees First Debate Of Jakarta Pilkada Safe Tomorrow Day
The first debate for Candidates for Governor and Candidate for Deputy Governor (Cagub-Cawagub) in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada will take place tomorrow Sunday, October 6. The theme of the first debate is "Strengthening Human Resources and Transformation of Jakarta into a Global City".
Following this debate, Polda Metro Jaya ensured that no threats could interfere with the event.
"We will make sure all aspects of security can be maintained properly and there is no threat that can interfere with the event," said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 5.
Karyoto asked the head of the work unit (kasatker) and the head of the regional unit (kasatwil) to secure the 2024 Pilkada stage to coordinate and collaborate with the TNI and other related parties.
"Do effective communication to all parties so that every development can be responded quickly and appropriately and have a positive impact on democracy in the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya," he said.
Karyoto also appealed to his staff in dealing with the 2024 Pilkada situation to maintain and show professionalism and maintain integrity.
"I remind personnel to uphold neutrality by not practicing politics, leading to favorable or detrimental sides of regional head candidates participating in the 2024 Pilkada." he said.

Separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi also reminded the public to always maintain security and order during the Jakarta Pilkada campaign.
"So that the Cagub-Cawagub Jakarta campaign stage activities can run safely and in an orderly manner," he said.
The debate will be attended by three pairs of Cagub-Cawagub DKI Jakarta, namely pair number 1 Ridwan Kamil- Suswono, pair number 2 Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana and pair number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno.
The DKI KPU set the inaugural debate for the Jakarta Regional Election on October 6, 2024 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday (6/10) at 19.00 WIB. The debate lasted 150 minutes.
