DPR Leaders Can't Get Official House Allowances

JAKARTA - DPR Secretary General Indra Iskandar said the DPR leadership would not receive an official housing allowance because it would still use the official residence located in the Widya Chandra complex, Jakarta.

Meanwhile, other members of the DPR for the 2024-2029 period will get the allowance because they will not get an official residence.

He said the official house of the DPR RI was returned to the state because it was no longer livable. "The DPR leadership, based on a letter from the Ministry of Finance to us, does not receive an allowance," said Indra as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 4.

However, according to him, his party still has not received an exact figure regarding the allowances to be given to the people's representatives.

The Secretary General of the DPR will still consult this with the Ministry of Finance. In addition, his party will also conduct a survey related to housing around Jakarta to determine the number of benefits.

"Such institutions such as the DPR or these and those, the range is there. And that is only for reference, we will still see the market mechanism," he said.

So far, according to him, there have been no changes or new regulations for DPR members. All allowances for the people's representatives still refer to the old regulations, including financial rights.
