BI Opens Voice Calls IDR 10,000 Years Of 2005 Emission Still Valid
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia has opened its voice that the IDR 10,000-year bill from 2005 is still valid. The money is purple with a picture of the hero Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II and Rumah Limas.
Head of the Bank Indonesia Money Management Department, Marlison Hakim, said that the IDR 10,000 fiscal year bills for 2005, 2016, and 2022 were still valid as legal tender in Indonesian territory.
"BI appealed to the public not to hesitate to use the money in transaction activities. The Rp10,000 denominations that are still valid are the 2005, 2016, and 2022 emission notes," he said in his official statement, Friday, October 4.
Marlison menyampaikan BI mengimbau agar masyarakat tidak menolak transaksi dengan uang yang masih berlaku sebagai alat pembayaran.
As emphasized in Article 23 of the Currency Law No. 7 of 2011, it is stated that everyone is prohibited from rejecting the Rupiah used in payment transactions in the Republic of Indonesia, unless we feel doubtful about the authenticity of the Rupiah.
Marlison said that if the public wanted to know the validity period of the rupiah currency, they could directly view information through the social media and website of Bank Indonesia.

Previously, the Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative for South Sumatra Ricky Perdana Gozali explained that Rupiah's 10,000 Years of Emissions in 2005 should have been withdrawn since 2010. However, the public was given a deadline of five years to return the money.

Gozali explained that if the public still has Rp10 thousand, they can be collected personally or sold to collectors because they cannot be exchanged or returned to the bank.
Then, the latest and applicable Rp10 thousand denominations are 2022 emissions with the main image of National Hero Frans Kaisiepo along with the words 'Frans Kaisiepo', dominated by purple citizens.
