Iran Responds To G7 Criticism: They Are Bias And Unresponsible

JAKARTA - Iran has responded to criticism by G7 countries for its attacks on Israel. The G7 is considered one-sided.

"They are biased and irresponsible", said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, quoted by Reuters on Thursday, October 3.

The leaders of the G7 countries previously expressed deep concern over the crisis in the Middle East. The G7 says a diplomatic solution can still be done.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni hosted a teleconference meeting of leaders a day after Israel was attacked by Iran.

The Italian government's statement said G7 leaders condemned Tehran's attack, the biggest attack ever carried out on Israel and agreed to work together to encourage a reduction in regional tensions.

"Declaring concern over the escalation that has occurred in recent hours, reiterates that conflicts across the region are not in anyone's interest and diplomatic solutions are still possible," he added.

Apart from Italy, the G7 also includes the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, and Japan.

World leaders are also reportedly considering new sanctions against Iran following Iran's ballistic missile attack on Israel.

The measures, the White House said, were discussed during a phone call between US President Joe Biden and his colleagues at the G7.

Today, President Biden joined in a phone call with the G7 to discuss the unacceptable Iranian attacks against Israel and to coordinate in response to these attacks, including new sanctions," the statement said.

President Biden and the G7 firmly condemn Iran's attacks on Israel. President Biden expressed the United States' full solidarity and support for Israel and its people, and reaffirmed the United States' strong commitment to the security of Israel, "added the White House statement.
