Meet The Head Of FBR, Pramono-Rano Promises To Form A Regional Regulation On The Advancement Of Betawi Culture

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno met with the General Chair of the Betawi Rempug Forum (FBR) Lutfi Hakim in Ujung Menteng Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

On the sidelines of his meeting, Lutfi offered documents to be signed by Pramono and Rano.

In the document, Pramono signed his commitment to advancing Betawi culture into Jakarta's main culture as the capital city moved to Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

"With Law Number 2 of 2024 that Jakarta is not the capital city of the country, then indeed Jakarta, whatever the main culture is Betawi culture," said Pramono in Cakung, East Jakarta, Thursday, October 3.

Pramono assessed that the DKI Provincial Government's preservation and advancement of Betawi culture so far still seemed " shy". Supposedly, these efforts could be maximized.

Moreover, Law Number 2 of 2024 concerning Special Regions of Jakarta regulates that the DKJ Provincial Government has special authority in the field of culture.

Referring to Article 31, the DKJ Provincial Government can budget for cultural endowment funds allocated from the APBD and can propose additional funds to the central government.

In addition, the DKJ Provincial Government is also authorized to involve business entities, educational institutions, traditional institutions and Betawi culture, as well as the community in advancing culture.

Therefore, if he wins the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Pramono promises to draft a regional regulation (perda) to implement the policy of advancing Betawi culture as a derivative rule of the DKJ Law.

"If we get the mandate if we can make a regional regulation, then we will make a regional regulation. Even the governor's regulation is able to do it. If necessary. At the beginning of our time as governor, I will help to prepare regional regulations and governors," Pramono explained.

Meanwhile, Lutfi hopes that Pramono can realize his promise in advancing Betawi culture with the first step in compiling his legal basis.

"We ask that legal products be made and their derivatives are related to them. If the regional regulation takes too long, while it must be executed as soon as possible, he is ready to issue a Pergub," added Lutfi.
