Pupuk Indonesia Encourages An Integrated Agricultural Ecosystem In Dieng Through The ACTION Program

JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues to be committed to social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) which focuses on creating shared value (CSV).

The company sees the importance of the involvement of internal employees to ensure the impact of the optimal program, not only for the community, the environment, but also for companies.

Through the All-Insan Collaboration Event (AKSI) program conducted in Dieng Kulon Village, Banjarnegara, Central Java, as many as 100 Pupuk Indonesia group employees spread across various fields ranging from marketing, human resources, research, to budgeting, are directly involved in creating a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, through competency-based collaboration.

Director of Human Resources (HR) Pupuk Indonesia, Tina T Kemala Intan said, through ACTION, employees are not only tasked with earning income and making profits but also paying attention to the community and the environment related to the company's business.

"This is in line with the direction from the Ministry of SOEs to pay attention and provide benefits to the environment, especially related to education and increasing the competence of the local community," said Tina

Tina explained that the selection of Dieng Kulon Village as the target location for the ACTION initiative was based on local agricultural potential, with an agricultural area of potato commodities reaching 163,000 hectares, 23 food farming businesses, 593 horticultural businesses, 99 livestock businesses, 34 forestry businesses, 4 plantation businesses and 1 fishery business.

In addition, the number of productive age populations that reach more than 2,000 people can also be a driving force for the local economy if they are able to be optimally empowered.

Therefore, the ACTION program that is spread in 4 focuses, namely agriculture, education, the environment, and social is expected to provide optimal benefits for the surrounding community.

"This program not only targets the creation of positive impacts on the community, but also value for the company. The ACTION program also collaborates with 24 stakeholders consisting of the government, farmers, distributors, and subsidiaries to create an ecosystem that is integrated with the company's value chain," said Tina.

Through this strategy, local farmers can increase their productivity through the availability of fertilizers at various nearby kiosks, to the management of organic waste which can provide added economic value.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) of the Ministry of SOEs, Hera Zera, who was also present at the ACTION event, expressed his hope for a replication of similar programs in other areas.

The Ministry of SOEs hopes that the social and environmental responsibilities carried out by the company can have a positive impact and improve the quality of life of the community, especially in the fields of education, the environment and the economy.

"The important thing is creating shared value, there is feedback provided by the community to Pupuk Indonesia directly or indirectly, such as providing working capital and assistance by PI Groups. We are sure that this success can provide good value, of course it will be adopted in other regions to be re-inited," said Hera Zera.
