Moddest Game Studio Showcases Kelana Game: Legend From East On Tokyo Game Show
JAKARTA - Moddest Game Studio, a local game development company from Indonesia, launched a teaser from its latest game entitled Kelana: Legend of the East, at the Tokyo Game Show.
The game features the wealth of Indonesian legends, inspired by folklore such as Babad Tanah Jawi and Joko Tingkir, and built based on iconic locations in Indonesia, including Java, Sumatra, and Papua.
Moddest Game Studio founder, Seto Hendrianto, revealed that the game developer is intended to introduce Indonesian culture and history to the international audience.
Carrying the third-person action RPG genre, players will follow Raden Arsa's adventures, a royal son who struggled after his home was attacked.
On his way, Arsa met withur Tun Syah Dira, who helped him master silat and revealed the potential that was in him.
With an estimated development time of 4-5 years, Moddest Game Studio plans to present the game's advances at Gamescom Asia in Singapore and Thailand Game Show in October.

"In this early stage, we started by designing the characters and gameplay to fight. With a full development estimate of up to 4-5 years for PCs and consoles, we hope next year we can immediately attract investor attention to first phase funding," Seto explained in a statement received on Wednesday, October 2.
This project also received attention from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Seto hopes that Kelana can compete in the global market, while inspiring indie game developers in Indonesia.
