GIIAS Bandung 2024 Closed With Positive Achievements, Supports Indonesia's Automotive Growth

JAKARTA The series of GIIAS Bandung automotive exhibitions held by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO) officially ended on Sunday, September 29, 2024, recording satisfactory results.

This exhibition, which was held for the second time in the City of Kembang, has succeeded in attracting the attention of the people of West Java, especially automotive lovers, who want to see and experience innovation and the latest technology from various well-known brands.

GAIKINDO General Chair, Yohannes Nangoi, revealed that GIIAS Bandung is not only an exhibition event, but also a means to disseminate information about the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia, especially in West Java. In addition, this exhibition aims to provide education to the public and encourage the growth of the national automotive industry.

"GIIAS Bandung is a form of GAIKINDO's commitment to present automotive exhibitions in various parts of Indonesia. The presence of vehicle models with the latest technology at this exhibition is an important step to encourage the development of a sustainable national automotive industry," said Yohannes in his official statement, Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

Yohannes also added that GAIKINDO plans to continue to expand the reach of GIIAS so that it can have a greater impact on the community and automotive industry in Indonesia.

"In the future, we will continue to develop GIIAS Bandung and strive to accommodate demand from GAIKINDO member brands. We also hope that Bandung will soon have a wider venue to accommodate more brands and support the growth of the automotive industry," he added.

During the five days of implementation, GIIAS Bandung 2024 recorded the presence of tens of thousands of visitors. Despite being colored by rain, the enthusiasm of visitors remained high, crowding the exhibition area until the last day. Rizwan Alamsjah, Chairman of III GAIKINDO as well as Chair of the Exhibition Organizer, emphasized that the positive response from the people of West Java, especially Bandung, was clear, especially from the large number of visitors who participated in vehicle trials.

"We really appreciate the enthusiasm of the people of Bandung. More than 1,000 trip tests and 500 trip rides were recorded during the exhibition, proving how great the potential of the automotive industry is in this region," said Rizwan.

This year, GIIAS Bandung presents the highest number of vehicle brands in its organizing history, with a total of 19 motorized vehicle brands. Of the 13 passenger vehicle brands, there are big names such as BYD, Chery, Citroen, Daihatsu, GAC Aion, Honda, KIA, Mazda, MG, Mitsubishi Motors, Suzuki, Toyota, and Wuling. In the commercial vehicle segment, Toyota Commercial also takes part, while from two-wheeled vehicles, there are five brands, namely Alva, Benelli, Keeway, Royal Enfield, and Scomadi.

In addition to motorized vehicles, various brands from the automotive support industry also enlivened GIIAS Bandung 2024, enriching visitors' experience with innovative products and technology.
