Chris Martin Says Coldplay Will Stop At 12 Studio Albums

JAKARTA - After first introducing the singles feelslikefallinginlove and WE PRAY, Coldplay is preparing to launch its tenth studio album with the title Moon Music on Friday, October 4.

This album is not planned as Coldplay's last music album since 1997. They are still planning another release in the future.

Chris Martin (vocals) stated that Coldplay will only stop releasing studio albums when they have produced 12 albums.

"We're just going to make 12 worthy albums. And that's real. Yes, I promise," Chris Martin said during an interview with Zane Lowe from Apple Music recently.

The number 12 is considered sufficient for Coldplay. Chris admitted that the band did not want to continue to release albums.

"Because it's a little better. And for some of our critics, the less will be even better," Chtis said.

"It's very important for us to have that limit," he added.

Furthermore, Chris took another example as to why he mentioned fewer albums to be better for Coldplay.

There are only seven (books) 'Harry Potter'. There are only 12 and a half Beatles albums, the same number for Bob Marley. In addition, the existence of those limitations means that the quality control is very high right now, and for a song to work, it's almost impossible, which is a great thing," he said.

I don't want, when we were 60 years old, to be like, Will (Champion), we told you. Come on! We can do better than this!

Despite having plans to stop producing studio albums, Chris ensures Coldplay will not stop producing other musical works.

Chris Martin also did not rule out other music projects between him and other personnel.

"So, if we do something together, after that creatively outside the tour, then it will be something different, or it will be a side thing, or it will be a compilation of things we haven't finished," he said.
