NotebookLM From Google Now Can Record YouTube Videos Automatically

JAKARTA - Google is expanding the capabilities of their artificial intelligence-based tool, NotebookLM, by adding a new feature that allows users to summarize YouTube videos and audio files automatically. This feature will greatly help students and professionals in making notes and learning guidelines from public videos on YouTube, as well as other audio files.

NotebookLM was previously known as a tool that makes it easier for users to create notes, learning guides, and information-based discussions from various sources such as PDF files, websites, Google Docs, Slides, and text/markdown files. However, with this additional latest feature, users can now import YouTube videos and audio files to be summarized into key concepts taken directly from video transcripts.

In addition to summarizing, NotebookLM also offers in-depth exploration by using quotes that are directly connected to video transcripts. This tool also allows users to conduct AI-based discussions based on video content.

Not only that, NotebookLM is equipped with a built-in YouTube player that makes it easier for users to watch videos while making notes.

For audio files, NotebookLM can create comprehensive learning guides and help users find specific information in audio transcripts. Google has also added a quick way to share Audio Overviews generated in NotebookLM, by creating a URL that can be shared for AI-guided discussions. However, this sharing URL feature is currently not available to Google Workspace users.

Users who want to try this latest feature can visit the NotebookLM website and add URLs from public YouTube videos or audio files to their notebooks. This feature is expected to make it easier for users to access and manage information from various media.
