Cook's Team Considers Various Options For Apple Vision Pro's Future
JAKARTA - Apple is now facing major challenges from competition in the mixed-reality headset market, especially with the increasing popularity of the Quest product line from Meta. With the presence of Quest 3S headsets that are priced ten times cheaper than Apple Vision Pro, the Cupertino-based technology giant must reconsider the future direction of their Vision Pro devices.
In a recent report from Bloomberg on Sunday, September 29, Apple product groups Vision are evaluating several options for the development of their headsets.
One of the most likely options is to keep Vision Pro as a premium model, but accompanied by cheaper edition launches. This affordable version headset will use more economical material, but Apple can still launch the second generation Pro model with improved processing performance and features.
In addition, Apple is also considering developing a headset that is more like a smart screen display. By removing computer elements and external batteries, this headset will become lighter and cheaper for production, while processing will be redirected to a connected iPhone.
