The Process Of Managing Mining Permits In East Kalimantan Is Investigated By The KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the process of obtaining a mining permit in East Kalimantan. This step was taken by examining 10 witnesses on Friday, September 27 yesterday.

"Witnesses were present to be investigated regarding the process of obtaining mining business permits and their role in the permit processing process," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika in a written statement quoted on Monday, September 30.

Tessa haya detailed the initials of the witnesses, namely AH, ADR, AF, AML, ANA, ARF, AI, AB, BH, and RS. "The examination was carried out at the East Kalimantan BPKP Representative Office," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the information obtained, those who have been questioned are:

1. Abu Helmi as Assistant for the Economy and Development Administration (Assistan II) for the Governor of East Kalimantan;

2. Adinur as Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Service;

3. Airin Fithri who is a housewife;

4. Amrullah who is the Head of the Forestry Service of East Kalimantan Province;

5. Anik Nurul Aini as Head of Subdivision of TU, Head of the Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province;

6. Arifin who is a civil servant at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources who is employed at the East Kalimantan Provincial Government's ESDM Service;

7. Awang Ilham as Head of Youth and Sports Office of Kutai Kertanegara Regency in 2016;

8. Azwar Busra as Head of the Technical Development Section for Minerba Mining at the East Kalimantan Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Service;

9. Baihaqi Hazami as Head of Mineral and Coal at the ESDM Office of East Kalimantan Province; and

10. Rachmad Santoso as an entrepreneur

In this case, he actually summoned Abdullah Sani, who is the Head of the Investment and One Stop Service Office of East Kalimantan Province as a witness. However, he died in 2022.

"Then four witnesses were also not present," said Tessa. They are Abdul Rahman K as former Secretary of the Department of Mining and Energy Distamben Kutai Kertanegara Regency in 2010; Ari Apriadi as Front Office Manager at the Bumi Senyiur Hotel Samarinda; retired civil servant of the Kutai Kertanegara Regency, Arifin Djapri; and Ashuri as Head of the Archives and Expeditional Sub-Division in 2010-2016.

Previously reported, the KPK said it was investigating allegations of corruption related to mining business permits (IUP) in East Kalimantan. The investigation was carried out since 19 September.

In this case, three suspects have been named. The KPK has also searched a number of locations in East Kalimantan, including the house of former East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak.

In addition, the anti-corruption commission has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent three people from leaving the country. They are AFI, DDWT, and ROC.

Meanwhile, based on the information obtained, two of them are Awang Faroek Ishak and his son, Dayang Dona Walfiares Tania or Payang Donna Faroek. Prevention is held for six months.
