Meet President Jokowi At The Palace, Minister Of Social Affairs Bahas Intensive Persons With Disabilities
Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul revealed that the government is discussing various issues related to concessions and incentives for people with disabilities.
This was conveyed by Gus Ipul after accompanying President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a meeting with representatives of the Indonesian Disability Association (PPDI) board at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex, Monday, September 30.
"One of the issues that is being discussed between ministries, the issue of concessions and incentives for persons with disabilities," he said, was confiscated by Antara.
In his statement, Gus Ipul emphasized the importance of providing special prices for the use of public transportation, as well as access to public facilities such as hospitals and certain shops for the purchase of basic necessities.
He explained that this discussion was the first step to create more inclusive facilities for people with disabilities.

This is in line with Law Number: 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities, as well as Government Regulation Number: 70 of 2019 concerning Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation of Respect, Protection, and Fulfillment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
However, Gus Ipul added that this process still takes quite a long time before the implementation of the policy can be realized.
"But all of this is still under a fairly long discussion about the facilities that are needed by people with disabilities," he said.
