Arriving At Sultan Airport, DPO Narcotics Smuggling Arrested By Jambi Police

JAMBI - Police arrested a person who was on the wanted list (DPO) of the Labuhan Batu Police, North Sumatra (North Sumatra). The arrest of the perpetrator was shortly after landing to Jambi via Sultan Thaha Airport.

Dirreskrimum Polda Jambi Police Commissioner Andri Ananta Yudhistira said a DPO named Khairul Arifin was arrested by the police while at Sultan Thaha Jambi Airport.

"The person concerned is the Labuhan Batu Police DPO," said Andri in Jambi, Monday, September 30, during Antara.

Andri explained, after receiving information from the Labuhan Batu Police DPO to Jambi via air travel from Jakarta to Jambi, his party immediately coordinated with the local airport avsec.

When the DPO got out of the plane, Jambi Police personnel immediately arrested the DPO. After being arrested, the DPO was taken to the Jambi Police Headquarters.

From the information circulating, this arrest is related to drug smuggling. However, Andri emphasized that this DPO was arrested not because of a drug smuggling case.

"The person concerned was not arrested for drug smuggling," he said.

Meanwhile, Andri emphasized that this DPO would be immediately handed over to the Labuhan Batu Police for further processing.

He said the settlement of this case was carried out by the Labuhan Batu Police. The Jambi Police, in this case, assisted in efforts to arrest him because the DPO was in Jambi at that time.

For information, the DPO Khairul Arifin has been the target of operations since May 2024 and has been designated as a DPO in August 2024.

For information, this DPO is the Chairman of the DPC Ormas Grib Labuhan Batu. The DPO was arrested on Sunday, September 29 at around 10.20 WIB.
