After The Sprint Race At The Mandalika Circuit, Francesco Bagnaia: A Championship Full Of Mistakes
JAKARTA - Ducati racer Francesco Bagnaia managed to record his name as the fastest in the sprint race session during the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP. However, before taking part in the main race, Pecco, his nickname, called this series a championship full of mistakes due to unpredictable competition and many mistakes made.
Until the final series before the Mandalika MotoGP was held on Sunday, September 29 tonight, Bagnaia's achievement was still 24 points behind Jorge Martin. This happened because Bagnaia made a number of mistakes in previous series including failing to finish in the last two of the last three races.
While undergoing a sprint race session at the Mandalika Circuit, Jorge Martin himself was in good condition. He had the lead at the start of the race but then suffered an accident and bounced into the back position.
Bagnaia did not waste this opportunity and won the Mandalika 2024 MotoGP sprint race. Now the difference between Bagnaia and Jorge Martin is only 12 points.
This difference makes the competition back tight. Bagnaia did not want to boast much about the competition for the world title race considering the situation in the 2024 MotoGP is completely unpredictable.

"Until tomorrow afternoon (after the main race) I don't want to talk about anything (related to world champion competition) because it looks like this season is a championship full of mistakes," Bagnaia said as quoted by Crash on Sunday, September 29.
At the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP, Bagnaia had difficulties in the free practice session on Friday. However, Bagnaia was then able to match the speed with Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini and then maximized the chance to win the sprint race.
"We know that this isn't the best week until the race arrives, but our performance continues to improve in each session,"
"This morning, we got a good step. In qualifying, I started to understand something but it couldn't be done because there was a yellow flag. To be sure, I know that my performance is good enough to fight for victory," said Bagnaia.
