BMKG Forecasts Medan, Bandung, Jakarta To Banjarmasin Rain Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in some areas of the capital city of Indonesia will rain with lightning today, Sunday, September 29.

BMKG forecaster Yohanes explained, starting from Sumatra, the weather in the city of Padang and Pekanbaru is predicted to be moderate in rain, while Medan and Tanjung Pinang have the potential for light rain.

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning for the Banda Aceh area," he said on the BMKG Youtube channel, confiscated by Antara.

Still on the island of Sumatra, light rain is forecast for Lampung, while people in Jambi, Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, and Palembang cities are asked to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning.

Shifting to Java, the weather in Serang, Bandung, and Jakarta is forecast for light rain.

"Yogyakarta City is predicted to be cloudy, while Semarang and Surabaya are cloudy," he said.

Furthermore, turning to the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, it is generally predicted to be cloudy for the Denpasar and Kupang areas, as well as light rain for the Mataram region.

"We are turning to Kalimantan Island, in general light rain is forecast for the Tanjung Selor, Samarinda, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin areas," he said.

Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to occur in the Pontianak area.

Then shifted to Sulawesi Island, in general the Gorontalo area is predicted to be cloudy, while Kendari City and Makassar are thick cloudy.

"Light rain is predicted to occur in the Manado and Palu areas, and be aware of rain accompanied by lightning for the Mamuju area," he said.

Furthermore, in eastern Indonesia, it is generally predicted that the air will run away for the Sorong and Manokwari regions.

"Light rain for the areas of Ambon, Ternate, Jayawijaya, and Merauke, and moderate rain for the Nabire region," he said.
