Handling West Sumatra Solok Landslide Victims, Police Establish Ante-Mortem Command Post

SUMBAR - Police formed an ante-mortem post to deal with the death toll in the landslide incident in Nagari Sungai Abu, Hiliran Gumanti, Solok, West Sumatra (West Sumatra).

Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Police Commissioner Dwi Sulystiawan, said the post was established at the Office of Wali Nagari Talang Babungo.

"Posko serves as a place for families to obtain information about victims and the ongoing identification process," he said in Padang, Saturday, September 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the ante-mortem post is a combination of tasks from the West Sumatra Police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team personnel with the local police.

Dwi said that currently the team had worked optimally to deal with the victims who had been evacuated by the joint search and rescue team (SAR).

"The team is still collecting data and identifying the bodies that have been found by the joint SAR team," he said.

He said that based on the latest data collected until Saturday, September 28 at 10.00 WIB, the total number of victims in the landslide incident was recorded at 23 people.

With details of the number of victims who died as many as 12 people (already identified), three minor injuries, two moderate injuries, and six serious injuries.

The landslide incident allegedly from illegal mining activities occurred on Thursday, September 26 afternoon in a hole excavated by an old mine in Nagari Sungai Abu, Hiliran Gumanti District, Solok Regency.

The difficult terrain and inaccessible to four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles pose a challenge for the BPBD team and volunteers to evacuate victims.

However, thanks to the cooperation and performance of the joint SAR team with the local community, the victim was finally found and evacuated.
