Busy Schedule, Indonesian U-20 Physical Coach Must Be Smart To Make A Player Recovery Program

JAKARTA - The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification schedule is fairly tight. The pause between matches is only one day.

This situation makes the recovery program which is the task of physical trainers to play an important role.

Indra Sjafri, the head coach of Indonesia U-20, the physical trainer in his team is already good at preparing a recovery program.

"During the first and second game breaks yesterday, the team also focused on recovery, only light training at hotels."

"Indeed, all teams have one day of rest qualification for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup. I have asked physical trainers to be smart in regulating recovery," said Indra Sjafri after fighting Timor Leste U-20.

Indonesia U-20 will play the last match of Group F of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification against Yemen U-20 on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Therefore, Indra Sjafri focused on Saturday, September 28, 2024, on recovery and light training and tactical materials against Yemen.

Previously, Indra Sjafri had also anticipated the busy schedule. He has rotated in the match against Timor Leste so that his players can be fit for clashes against Yemen.

"We made substitutions in the second half against Timor Leste for the rest of the players. We have to rotate," said Indra Sjafri.

Meanwhile, one of the U-20 Indonesian players, Jens Raven, admitted that the solid schedule made her physically declining.

However, with a good recovery, the team's preparations for the next match also went well.

In addition, the enthusiasm to show the best of every match in front of Indonesian U-20 supporters, according to Raven, is enough to relieve fatigue.

"The rest team (recovery) on Saturday. Preparations went well. Our physique was down due to the schedule, but it didn't dampen our enthusiasm to get the three points," Raven said.

Indonesia U-20 playing a very important match against Yemen U-20. Garuda Muda only needs series results to come out as winners of Group F of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification.
