The Moment Of Enea Bastianini Overtakes Marc Marquez Without Controversy And Belief In Champions This Season

Enea Bastianini ended the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP Qualification in fifth position on Saturday, September 28, 2024, morning WIB.

Bastianini suddenly came as a surprise during the day-day Sprint Race. He managed to rank second behind Francesco Bagnaia.

Interestingly, Bastianini secured Sprint Race's second position after overtaking Marc Marquez at Turn 12 in the last second round.

This time, he preceded Marquez without controversy. As is known, in the previous race in the Emilia-Romagna MotoGP, Bastianini drew criticism because of his way of overtaking Marquez and leaving to become champion without being sanctioned.

Bastianini after the Sprint Race said that he did not think about the incident at Misano when overtaking Marquez.

"No, I didn't think about it. (Now) it's a bit easier to overtake at the corner than what happened at Misano," Bastianini said in Crash.

Meanwhile, the second place in the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP Sprint Race made the coffers of Bastianini's points increase by nine points.

Currently he has packaged 291 points, differing 50 points from the leader of the drivers' standings, Jorge Martin.

The cut in points made Bastianini start to think about the potential for the 2024 MotoGP champion.

"Now I'm much closer, 50 points can be better than yesterday."

"Well, that's the target, it could be my target (the 2024 MotoGP champion). However, if you want to be realistic, this goal is a bit far for me. However, let's just look at it," said the Ducati Lenovo rider.

Jorge Martin did not score points after having an accident at the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP Sprint Race.

In fact, the Pramac Racing racer started the race from the leading position. He led the race in the first lap.

However, before the change of lap, to be precise Turn 16, Martin fell. He was thrown into 15th position and ended the Sprint Race on the 10th stairs.
