Jorge Martin Still Suspects Turn Of 16 Mandalika Circuits, Not Motorcycle Problems

JAKARTA - Jorge Martin is still upset that he fell on the Mandalika 2024 MotoGP Sprint Race on Saturday, September 28, 2024, Indonesian Western Time (WIB) afternoon.

The Pramac Ducati Racing racer fell at the end of the first lap while leading the 13 lap race.

Martin denied that the alleged accident was caused by the Michelin 2024 rear tire which had a tendency to push the front harder when braking due to better grip.

The type of tire has previously caused a number of accidents this season.

However, Jorge Martin still suspects that the Turn of 16 of the Mandalika Circuit, which is the location, has fallen.

"I think there is something strange on that part of the track. Simon Crafar (the MotoGP commentator) told me two days ago."

"I really paid attention to that corner, trying to be careful. So, I was really careful at that point."

"However, I still had an accident. So, for sure, the thing to do is do it slowly and keep a little distance, then spur the rest of the track," Martin said in Crash.

He further refused to suspect that something was wrong with the arrangement on his motorbike. The aerodynamic side of the motorbike is also safe.

As is known, Martin had experienced a number of accidents in the first half of this season.

The accident was based on the use of components on his GP24 motorbike which was not used by other riders.

However, this time Martin felt that the real problem was at the Mandalika Circuit. The last second corner was deemed problematic with the asphalt that was the cause of the accident.

"I didn't feel like I lost the front with the new aerodynamics, it felt really good."

"So, I just felt there was a small part, somewhere, at the corner it was slippery because the rest of the track was heavily gripping."

"So, that's all. I'll try to understand and see the formers of my accident and look for other places."

"Maybe I'll check it out and when I warm up I'll check it. After that, everything went well when it entered the corner. So, it was just that round," said Martin curiously.

The affirmation that his motorbike had no problem referring to Martin's slick performance in Kualifikasi. He won pole position as well as set a new lap record.
