17 People Killed In Mass Shooting In South Africa

JAKARTA - A total of 17 people died in mass shootings in two houses in a village in Eastern Cape province, South Africa. Police are still hunting down the perpetrators.

Police said the shooting took place in two separate houses in Lusikisiki village and a total of 15 women and two men were killed.

In one house, 13 people were killed, including 12 women and one man. In another guesthouse, four people were also killed," the South African Police said.

The motive for the attack is not yet known.

South Africa is one of the countries with the highest death rates in the world, with around 20,000 deaths recorded annually from a population of more than 60 million.
