Explosion Sounded In Beirut Lebanon, Black Smoke Swells

JAKARTA - Large black smoke rose from the Lebanese capital, Beirut, after several explosions were heard.

Israel previously said it was continuing to attack Hezbollah's targets even though the US and its allies proposed a 21-day ceasefire on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad said 25 people had been killed in the country since midnight local time when Israel continued its attack on Hezbollah's targets.

"Since midnight until now, there have been 25 martyrs and many injured victims. Statements regarding the complete number of victims will be announced today or tomorrow morning," Abiad said at a press conference Friday, September 27, reported by CNN.

Tens of thousands of people were forced to flee following the increasing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.

Abiad said the Ministry of Health was trying to help deliver baby medicines and milk formulas, and health services had also helped more than 12 childbirths among refugees.
