Again, Minister Of Religion Yaqut Absent, Commission VIII Of The House Of Representatives Rejects To Continue Meeting
JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas was again absent from a working meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR with an agenda for evaluating the implementation of the 2024 Hajj.
All factions in Commission VIII of the DPR agreed to refuse to continue the working meeting attended by the Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Health and PT Garuda Indonesia because the Minister of Religion was represented by the Deputy Minister.
"In principle, all opinions are the same, we still want this working meeting to be attended by the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in accordance with the law Number 8/2019," said Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI Ashabul Kahfi in a working meeting at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, September 27.
Ashabul said that his party had tried to understand the law. Because in some state agendas, he said, when governors, ministers or presidents are unable to usually be represented by their representatives. "But indeed it is regulated in the rules or other clauses in the law. If this is indeed not a clause that regulates when the minister is absent, then it is required to the deputy minister," said Ashabul.
"But rather than that, even though I personally, after all, it is also my moral responsibility, to the public to convey the results of the evaluation of state administrators in 2024, of course, must also obey and listen to aspirations, especially from all factions and leaders present to convey the same thing," he continued.
Ashabul deeply regrets the absence of Minister of Religion Yaqut at the end of his term of office. Because, according to him, the public is very much waiting for the results of the evaluation of the 2024 Hajj.
"But the saddest thing, in my opinion, is because of the opportunity for our working meeting only today, we are also also at Commission VIII, the last day of the meeting here for this period. It is impossible for us to have a meeting tomorrow because tomorrow is a holiday, Sunday, the day after tomorrow we have been inaugurated and maybe everyone here doesn't know whether it's still in Commission VIII or commission XI," said the PAN legislator.

Therefore, Ashabul said, Commission VIII of the DPR agreed not to continue the last working meeting with partners for reasons of absence from the Minister of Religion. However, Commission VIII of the DPR continues to receive reports regarding the implementation of the 2024 Hajj by working partners in writing.
"So in this point we cannot continue the meeting but I would like to convey to the leadership and members to appreciate the presence of the Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transportation, PT Garuda even though the material for the report has been submitted to us, we. But I want to officially go through this working meeting because we can't continue, the material is submitted in writing symbolically to Commission VIII, agreeing. So the report is submitted in writing, "explained Ashabul.
"This means that it does not mean that the report has been rejected but has been received by Commission VIII but because the rules have been withheld so that it has not been discussed. So that later it will be discussed God willing, in Commission VIII in the next period. Hopefully we will still meet sir, at the same place at different times," he concluded.
