Toyota Introduces Tiny Electric Car Called EV Smart Mobility
JAKARTA - Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) officially introduced their newest electric car, the EV Smart Mobility. This tiny car is ready to enliven electric vehicles in Indonesia.
"We hope that this EV Smart Mobility can not only be a concrete example of Toyota's mobility solution to support the use of electrification technology for the wider community but also as a form of realization of Toyota's commitment to bring Mobility Happiness for All", said the President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor Susumu Matsida.
On the same occasion the President Director of PT Astra International Tbk., Djony Bunarto Tjondro said that with this initiative, Astra could popularize the country's electric vehicle technology.
"We hope that the EV Smart Mobility project will not only support the Indonesian government's program in developing electrified vehicles but also contribute to a better environment", said Djony.

As many as 13 partners support the presence of EV Smart Mobility, they are PT Astra International Tbk., PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), PT Aisin Indonesia.
Other partners include PT Denso Indonesia, PT KDDI Indonesia, PT Toyota Astra Financial Services, Toyota Industries Corporation, PT Toyota Tsusho Indonesia, PT Asuransi MSIG Indonesia, PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia, PT Sugity Creatives, and TCD Asia Pacific Indonesia.
Not only that, but Toyota also collaborates with PT Serasi Auto Raya (SERA) in handling the operational affairs of the Smart Mobility EV. The tiny electric car is also equipped with solar panels to charge its electric power.
Toyota presents 3 types of EV Smart Mobility products, namely 20 units of Toyota COMS (BEV), 5 units of Toyota C + pod (BEV), and 5 units of Toyota Prius PHEV.
