Exclusive KimberlyRIDer Takes Action Again, Balances Mother's Careers And Roles

JAKARTA - This year can be called the full year of rollercurrency for a KimberlyRIDer. Returning to acting, he also shocked the public with a series of events in his personal life.

Kimberly Border returns to acting through her latest film, Bangsal Isolation. This film, which combines action and thriller, puts her as the main character, Weni, a woman who conducted an investigation behind her sister's death in a women's special prison.

"It's been a long time (not playing horror). Actually, this film is number one, this film is not horror but rather a thriller of mystery action. Maybe in the set, it seems that if it's horror, most of the old sets are old, a lot of dust is like that, what makes the nose so it's not good suddenly hurts," said Kimberly RDer to VOI some time ago.

The shooting process was carried out at the Van Der Wijck Fort in Kebumen, Central Java. He needed adjustments to be on set as well as return to acting.

"The building is 200 years old, so there are indeed many mushrooms, of course on the walls and everything is already making you sick. I remember Mas Ade and several other people in the first week of filming were already sick, because the adjustments," he continued.

In addition to filming, the new character he got also demanded him to have an action scene. He admitted that he was nervous because he faced Wulan Guritno in the scene.

"I haven't been shooting for a long time, and I haven't done it for a long time, so it's been like that, I have a scene against the fighting scene, Wulan Guritno is also really fit," he said.

"I feel quite intimidated and quite good too. Every time I want to shoot it, I drag it first before going to bed, it's also so that I'm stronger and ready," said the mother of two.

For Kimberly, challenges are not a problem. He made Weni's role as a form of struggle to return to acting. This was proven by him who chose not to use stunt in scenes in films and opened up with natural reactions presented.

"I don't use stunt, no one uses stuntman. Even though I'm bleeding, what kind of thing fell and so on. That's what I sometimes tell you to feel like it's not just Ms. Wulan, it's just the other players, 'Just beat me, just shoot me for real' so that the reaction is more natural, so I'm the same, Ms. Wulan, there's a scene where she kicked me, I put something in the shirt. That's one memory that will not be forgotten," he recalled.

His latest character also appears as a different protagonist from the antagonists he often plays. So often, he said there were many challenges he went through while acting in this film.

"Because the beginning of entering this industry through soap operas, there are many antagonists roles. We try not to do a lot of acting so we talk more as usual," said KimberlyRIDer.

After finishing college, his studies in acting were taken a lot after that. After going through marriage, having children, it developed so that many going through the motions that could be put into my acting," he continued.

Busyness was carried out at the same time as Kimberly Border decided to separate from her husband, Edward Akbar. When talking to VOI, she responded casually to how they as parents shared their time between career and their children.

"So my husband and I are parents, if he is shooting, I take care of the children, if I shoot, he will take turns but work together as children with my mother," said the woman who was born on August 6.

"The agreement is more about not trying to stop me from working. If you want to get married, you still want to work because I enjoy work, now I have children," he explained.

He believes that as a mother, working is a form of me time and does not have to go with friends. He, who had lived in Bali, was also a voter, especially regarding the project he wanted to take.

"It's only open that you still choose because having children is a priority to raise them, choose those who don't take up my time, if the big project is also two months with the children," said Kimberly Border.

"Because if I often leave my child to other people even though my mom, they must be educated differently from their parents and they end up going to be more like people who take care of them than their own parents," said Kimberly.

After deciding to separate, Kimberly Border is ready to busy himself with work and focus on the children. He admitted that he had prepared several projects throughout the year.

It is known that last July, Kimberly officially filed for divorce from Edward Akbar at the same time as reporting her husband for alleged car embezzlement. Until now, cases of embezzlement and divorce proceedings are still going through the process despite delays.

While taking care of the two, Kimberly Border is also still promoting the film Bangsal Isolation. He even flew to Hong Kong for the 2024 Asian Film Festival because his latest film aired at the festival. He never planned how he chose a project but he wanted to keep working according to his passion.

"How long before, if I'm not mistaken and it was only a day or two filming. It's actually just a coincidence, it's really good, a year or two films, God willing, are good. Maybe a short series because in the future there will be a series project too," he said.

Closing the conversation that afternoon, Kimberly was asked if her two children were allowed to enter the world of acting like her parents. Natasha Border's sister was reluctant to direct but she freed her child to explore much as she did the same.

"We realize how difficult it is in the industry, maybe people who see as actors are easy, just really not, it's quit difficult but we don't direct children to something specific. We'll see how, we try to drive it to other things first, only if it ends up in acting, let their choices be," said KimberlyRIDer.
