2 Times A Year Indonesia Feels The Equinox Phenomenon, BMKG: The Sun Feels Terik
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) revealed that Indonesia will experience the influence of temperature variations due to the Equinox astronomical phenomenon twice a year.
BMKG Deputy for Meteorology Guswanto said the Equinox phenomenon only took place twice a year on March 21 and September 23.
During that period, one of the consequences made the sun shine optimally in the equator. So it feels hotter," he said in Jakarta, Thursday, September 26, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said the Equinox phenomenon is normal and will happen twice every year.
A number of areas on the earth's equator, including Indonesia, can feel their influence because, according to him, during that period the sun's pseudo point will be in a position that crosses the equator.
However, BMKG emphasized that the Equinox phenomenon does not significantly increase air temperature (extrem) or permanent season changes in Indonesia.

The results of BMKG observations before and after the Equinox period, found that the maximum daily temperature variations during the day and minimum temperature at night in a number of areas in Indonesia tended to be normal.
Guswanto said observations from the Meteorological Station in Semarang recorded a maximum temperature at noon 36.2-36.6 Celsius (August-September). Then at the same time the minimum temperature in Ruteng, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara is around 12.9 Celsius and 15.0 Celsius in Jaya Wijaya, Papua.
Through this elaboration, BMKG urges the Indonesian people to be calm, and wisely respond to climate and weather information by continuing to increase preparedness in order to minimize the potential risks of the dynamics of existing weather changes.
