Iran Will Not Allow Lebanon To Face Israeli Attacks Alone

JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani said Tehran would use all diplomatic means to support Lebanon, ensuring they would not leave Beirut alone to deal with Israeli attacks.

In an interview with Mehr News Agency on Wednesday Kan'ani said Israel's evil and fake regime was the root cause of instability in the region.

He said the continued aggression and crimes in Palestine and Lebanon threaten regional and international peace and security.

"Lebanon is a very important Arab and regional Islamic state. This country is now the target of aggressive attacks by the Zionist regime. Supporting Lebanon and its country, apart from international responsibility, is a very important task for all Islamic and Arab countries," he told Mehr, as quoted September 26.

Unfortunately, the pressure exerted by the United States Government and some of its European allies have prevented the UN Security Council from fulfilling its duties in maintaining international peace and security, as well as stopping Israeli war crimes in Palestine, the senior Iranian diplomat said.

He added that Iran would use all its diplomatic capacity to support Lebanon.

"Undeniably, we will not leave Lebanon alone in the face of the repressive aggression of the Zionist regime," he said.
