Hezbollah Says Israel Drops Eid With 'Very Hazardous' Barcode To Lebanon

JAKARTA - The Hezbollah media office said Israel distributed leaflets with barcodes that were "very dangerous" to the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.

Hezbollah, reported by Reuters on Wednesday, September 24, warned scanning the code over the phone would "attract all information" from any device.

There has been no immediate comment from the Israeli military. Hezbollah's media office did not say whether anything else was written on the leaflet.

As previously reported, the Israeli and Hezbollah war continued after a massive Israeli attack that killed nearly 500 people in Lebanon.

Israel attacked Hezbollah's target in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah attacked military facilities in northern Israel.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, September 24, the Israeli military said it attacked dozens of Hezbollah targets, a day after carrying out airstrikes against the armed group which Lebanese authorities said killed nearly 500 people.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it was targeting several Israeli military targets including an explosives factory 60 km (37 miles) to Israel, which was attacked by Fadi rocket at around 04.00 am local time, Tuesday, September 24.

Hezbollah also attacked the Megiddo airfield near the northern Israeli city of Afula three times separately overnight. The battle has raised fears that the US, Israel's close ally and Iran's regional powers, which have proxies in the Middle East of Hezbollah, Yemen's Houthis and armed groups in Iraq, will be dragged into a broader war.

The attack added to pressure on Hezbollah, which last week suffered heavy losses when thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies used by its members exploded in the worst security breach in its history.

The operation is widely linked to Israel, but Israel has not confirmed or denied its responsibilities.
