West Java Police: More Than Four Stewards Become Victims Of Beating Bobotoh

The West Java Regional Police (Polda) revealed that more than four security officers (tewards) were victims of alleged beatings by Persib Bandung (Bobotoh) supporters after the match against Persija Jakarta at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, West Java, Monday (23/9).

"There were more than four victims. This incident has been reported to the Bandung Police," said Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police Kombes Jules Abraham Abast in Bandung as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 24.

Kombes Jules said it was investigating a case of alleged beatings by Bobotoh individuals against dozens of stewards in the match.

"We have started collecting the available evidence. We will conduct inspections related to CCTV on Si Jalan Harupat and CCTV that back up the course of the match, namely CCTV from the West Java Regional Police's BID ICT," he said.

The evidence examined will be used as evidence from the officers so that they can reveal the perpetrators of the supporters who abuse a number of stewards.

Currently, he said, an examination is being carried out by asking for information from the victims.

"Of course we will also conduct an examination of several witnesses whose statements will be taken as soon as possible," he said.

He then revealed the background of the chaos related to the alleged misunderstanding.

Even so, his party will carry out legal proceedings and investigate the case.

There was a riot between supporters and yesterday's stewards regarding the alleged dispute during the previous match against Port FC. There are allegations that stewards committed physical and verbal violence against supporters in the match.

Previously, the chaos of supporters in the continued match of Liga 1 2024/2025 between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta occurred after the referee from Malaysia Muhammad Nazmi blew a long whistle to end the match which the home team won with a score of 2-0.

A number of Persib Bandung supporters in the south tribune and the north tribune immediately went to the field, then they attacked security officers who were on duty.

They threw stones with bottles of drinks and chairs, even ganged up on the field. The riots also resulted in damage to fences that limited the stands with the field.

The police officers on duty immediately took quick action by preventing unscrupulous supporters from returning to their respective stands.
