Find Many Irregularities, Members Of The Special Committee Propose Legal Apparatus To Be Involved In Investigating The Implementation Of Hajj 2024

Member of the Special Committee (Pansus) for Hajj Angkat DPR RI Marwan Jafar said that Law Enforcement Officials (APH) must be present in the case of the implementation of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage which is indicated to have many irregularities.

"Many parties want that this must be recommended to APH to investigate further the existing findings," said Marwan Jafar at the DPR RI building, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, September 24.

The presence of APH in this case is a follow-up to the meetings that have been run by the Hajj Special Committee, where there are many findings that indicate irregularities in the implementation.

Not only that, APH's interest in overseeing this case is because it has been proven that there has been misappropriation of the Hajj Law and also Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 6 of 2024 which regulates the Cost of Organizing Hajj 1445 H/2024 AD.

"Because it is very clearly proven and clearly violates the Hajj law, violating the Hajj Presidential Decree there is also an element that it is suspected that there is an element of gratification," he said.

Although many recommended this, it turned out that according to Commission VIII members, many parties were reluctant to carry out this, which Marwan considered the party 'in the wind'.

"But there are also parties who don't want to, so this wind doesn't want to be certain. Well, those who don't get wind will definitely continue in the investigation to law enforcement officials," he said.

In order for this case to end quickly and find a bright spot, previously on Monday (23/9) the Hajj committee had summoned the Minister of Religion for questioning regarding the accountability report for the implementation of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

However, on the same occasion, the Minister of Religion still had to attend the International Meeting for Peace (IMP) in France, to represent President Joko Widodo.

Thus, the General Hearing Meeting (RDPU) had to be postponed because several related parties were invited, such as the Minister of Transportation (Kemenhub), the Minister of Health (Kemenkes), and also the Garuda Indonesia airline were unable to attend and only represented.
