Hendra Setiawan Plans To Retire By The End Of 2024
JAKARTA The men's doubles specialist, Hendra Setiawan, opens the possibility of retiring at the end of this year.
The couple from Mohammad Ahsan said that he is currently considering closing his career in the sport that has raised his name.
"There is a plan, but maybe we will see at the end of the year what it looks like. I also have to negotiate with my family first. So, maybe at the end of the year," said Hendra in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic gold medalist is currently at the end of his career. He is now 40 years old.
Meanwhile, his partner Ahsan is three years younger than him. After that, the two of them began to lose competition with younger pairs.
Hendra is also increasingly realistic about this fact so he refuses to set targets in the remaining tournaments this year.
"There is no other target because passing the World Tour Final is definitely difficult. At least three or four more tournaments that we can participate in in the rest of this year," said Hendra.
Hendra/Ahsan in the three latest tournaments got results that were far from satisfactory. The three tournaments in question are the Japan Open, Hong Kong Open, and China Open 2024.
In the three events, their steps stopped in the first round. They lost successively against Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (Denmark).
