Pramono Will Return House Tax Exemption Under Rp2 Billion Anies Era Which Was Changed By Heru Budi

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's candidate admits that he will return the policy of land tax exemption and PBB-P2 rural and urban buildings to the house tax object in Jakarta with a value of under Rp. 2 billion as in the leadership of Anies Baswedan.

Now, when the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono took office, the DKI Provincial Government changed the policy. Now, the incentive for PBB-P2 exemption is only on the first house tax object.

This policy return plan, such as the Anies era, will be implemented if Pramono and Rano Karno win the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Earlier there were complaints about the United Nations below Rp. 2 billion. Now you have to pay if I am given the mandate. I will return it to the times when both Mr. Ahok and Mr. Anies have decided," Pramono said when met in Kramat Jati, Tuesday, September 24.

Pramono admitted that he had received many complaints from residents regarding the incentive policy that was changed by Heru Budi. Thus, Pramono said he would comply with residents' requests to return the home tax exemption policy as before.

"Pak Anies decided that the Rp2 billion and below were not subject to the UN. That is the problem that is often below," said Pramono.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Lusiana Herawati explained that the revocation of home tax-free under Rp2 billion was stated in Governor Regulation Number 16 of 2024 which was signed by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

"This year's policy, especially for housing with a value below Rp. 2 billion, its implementation is different from the previous year. In the previous year, occupancy with a value below Rp. 2 billion was taxed," said Lusiana.

Lusiana also explained the reason why the DKI Provincial Government revoked the all-house PBB-P2 reduction policy below IDR 2 billion. Previously, the house tax exemption was implemented because the economic condition was slumped due to COVID-19. Now, the policy has been revoked because it is considered that economic conditions have recovered after the pandemic.

"Tax payments are essentially a form of mutual cooperation in restoring economic conditions in DKI Jakarta. Therefore, we urge the public to take advantage of this fiscal incentive so that taxpayers can be helped in paying off their tax obligations," he said.

However, to ease it, the DKI Provincial Government still provides incentives for PBB-P2 payments in 2024. Tax exemption with NJOP below IDR 2 billion still applies to one asset or tax object. Meanwhile, the remaining object has already been taxed.

If the taxpayer has more than one PBB-P2 object, according to Lusiana, the exemption will be applied to the largest NJOP.

"For UN exemptions below Rp. 2 billion, there is still only 1 residence. The difference is with last year's policy, all housing under Rp. 2 billion is released," he explained.
