Inaugurating NextHub Global Summit 2024, Minister Of Communication And Information Encourages Investment In Agritech And Aquatech
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information together with the Nexticorn Foundation, inaugurated the NextHub Global Summit 2024 in Badung Regency, Bali.
According to Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi, this event is intended to bring together startup players with investors to be able to survive and develop, and answer the tech-winter challenges that Indonesia is facing.
"This meeting is to revitalize the landscape of technology amid global economic challenges, by inviting 80 early-stage Indonesian startups from various sectors such as healthtech, logistics, and agritech, as well as global venture capital," Budi said as quoted on Tuesday, September 24.
Budi also revealed the great opportunities possessed by startups in the agritech and aquatech sectors. Because according to him, the government recognizes that these two sectors are very important for accelerating the country's economy.
"Therefore, I expect every participant present at this summit to pay attention to these potential sectors," said Budi.
He assessed that the agricultural and fishery sectors have a very promising market value and can become a source of new economic growth, especially with technology support that can make this sector more productive and efficient.
"I encourage startups to develop innovative solutions that can overcome challenges in this sector, such as long supply chains and sustainable resource management," he concluded.
