PSSI Presses League 1 Operators Investigate Riots Persib Bandung Supporters
JAKARTA - PSSI through the General Chair (Ketum), Erick Thohir, requested that PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of Liga 1 2024/2025 to investigate the chaos involving Persib Bandung supporters.
The riots occurred after the Persib Bandung vs Persija Jakarta match in the sixth week of Liga 1 2024/2025 at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Monday, September 23, 2024.
After the game ended, hundreds of supporters were seen running into the middle of the field. They also chased and were seen beating a number of stewards on guard.

It was this incident after the match that was later regretted by the chairman of PSSI. He said that the match, which actually went smoothly, was tarnished because of the disgraceful action after that. Therefore, he asked the competition operator to thoroughly investigate this incident.
"In the midst of efforts to keep the competition running smoothly and peacefully, I really regret why there is still a commotion of supporters," said Erick Thohir in an official statement quoted on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
"It's not in the middle of the match, what I got the report went smoothly. However, the incident after the match. This must be the responsibility and total evaluation of the LIB and investigating this incident, both supporters, match management, including stewards," said Erick Thohir.
Erick Thohir also highlighted match management and questioned supporters who could enter the field and then attack the steward on duty.
"I'm waiting for a report from LIB. However, judging from the video circulating on social media, it can be seen how supporters can go to the field after the match, then intimidate the officers in the field."
"This needs to be explored by LIB. Why did it happen? How was the match management run by LIB at that time? We must not tolerate violence, in any form," he said.
The incident after the Persib vs Persija match has previously been responded to by various parties. PT LIB has also issued a release that also has the same tone, condemning acts of violence, supporters and will investigate this action thoroughly.
